Spider & Reticular Veins
The non-invasive laser treatment of unsightly leg veins is one of the most requested yet most challenging of aesthetic procedures. Because of the various diameters, depths and pressures found with these vessels, their treatment often requires a wide range of wavelengths, pulse widths and fluencies. Using a combination of therapies, such as those included on the Harmony®XL system, physicians are able to treat both superficial and deep telangiectasis as well as telangiectatic matting and hemosiderin staining. Using the principle of selective photothermolysis, these vessels can be selectively heated and collapsed without damaging the surrounding healthy tissue. Depending on the nature of the vessels, either the Nd:YAG or an AFT treatment head on the Harmony®XL can be used to produce the desired effect.
Technology in Use
The Nd:YAG 1064 laser hand piece coagulates and destroys deeper, cosmetically unacceptable blood vessels and leg veins without the use of chemicals or needles.
This effectively coagulates oxygenated reddish telangiectasias, as well as deoxygenated bluish venule ectasia and reticular veins up to 4-mm diameter.
