Sclerotherapy is a procedure used to treat spider veins; the very small thin, threadlike veins that lie close to the skin’s surface and are commonly red, blue, or purple in appearance.  Spider veins can be hormonally induced and associated with pregnancy and menstruation. Spider veins grow from reticular veins, also known as "feeder" veins. At Rejuvenessence mediSpa we perform Sclerotherapy of spider veins on an outpatient basis with no anesthesia required. This procedure is done by carefully injecting sclerosing solution into the spider vein. The solution causes the veins to collapse and fade.  Multiple sclerotherapy sessions may be required to achieve desired results. There are a few rare risks involved with sclerotherapy, including inflammation, the formation of blood clots in the veins, and adverse allergic reactions to the sclerosing solution. As always complimentary consultations are provided. The benefits of treatment can include cosmetic improvement as well as an increase in self esteem and confidence.
