BOTOX® Cosmetic is an FDA approved therapeutic medicine that is injected into muscles and used to improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows and forehead, temporarily correcting the visible signs of aging and stress. BOTOX® Cosmetic injections are minimally invasive and are designed to relax the underlying facial muscles thus softening wrinkles. It works by blocking the nerve impulses to the injected muscles. Full correction is apparent within seven to ten days and usually lasts between three to five months. There is little recovery time and minimal discomfort. Some pre-existing medical conditions preclude the use of this therapy. A consult with Dr. Pechman is required prior to receiving this treatment.
